Substations can be extremely dangerous places if those working onsite are not correctly trained. It is the role of the Authorised or Competent Person to only permit access on site if they are satisfied that the Engineer or Contractor is fully qualified. It is therefore not uncommon for anyone working on site being required to show their training certificates, especially for activities such as Exothermic Welding. This could cause a problem if Engineers have been trained on-site but have no formal record of the training taking place.
Alcomet offers practical, certified, on-site FurseWELD® exothermic training sessions for groups of up to 12 people.
On successful completion of the course delegates receive full certification documents and have an understanding of the materials required for Exothermic Welding, the circumstances in which they can be used and the practical skills to use them.
