Rewireable Artic Fuses have commonly been installed in substations since the late nineteen fifties. Widely found in protection and control circuits fitted to relay panels they are also located on motorised isolator / circuit breaker mechanism cabinets, marshalling kiosks, battery chargers, transformer tap change control equipment and more.
The traditional Artic Fuse Carrier contains asbestos flash guards and mitigating the risk surrounding working with asbestos is a costly and time consuming process. As well as the health implications of working with Asbestos the Artic Fuse also contains fuse wire, which degrades with age.
Continually working with the electrical networks to strive towards minimising costs without compromising on quality and service provision, Alcomet have provided a safe, easy and cost effective solution for replacing asbestos laced Artic Fuses.
The Alcomet Fuse Carrier has been designed to fit into the existing Artic Fuse Holder base, enabling the user to simply remove the existing Artic Carrier and replace it with the Alcomet Fuse Carrier, with minimal disturbance.
The Alcomet Fuse Carrier has been test and approved to BS HD 60269-2 (BS88-2). Rated to take up to A1 type, 20 amp fuses or solid links.
The Alcomet Fuse Carrier removes the presence of asbestos and eliminates the need for fuse wire. With no requirement to drill into the existing panel to fit new bases the Alcomet Fuse Carrier is quick and easy to install.
